How to Get and Use the Epic General Zhang Liang in Evony

Evony released a new Epic Historic General named Zhang Liang during their 2022 Anniversary Celebration. Zhang Liang was a renowned Chinese military strategist and politician who lived during the early Western Han dynasty and was known as one of the “Three Heroes of the early Han dynasty” in Chinese History. In Evony, Zhang Liang is also a powerful Duty General. This article will provide information on Zhang Liang's story, Special Skill, and Specialty, followed by tips on how to obtain and use him effectively.

Story of Zhang Liang:

Zhang Liang played a significant role in the establishment of the Han dynasty. In 206 BC, Liu Bang and Xiang Yu were embroiled in a four-year-long power struggle for supremacy over China. Zhang Liang suggested a strategy to Liu Bang to counter Xiang Yu, known as the “Xiayi Plan.” Liu Bang followed Zhang Liang's advice, and by late 203 BC, he saw that the tide had turned in his favour, as Xiang Yu had been surrounded on three sides. Zhang Liang suggested to Liu Bang to renounce the Treaty of Hong Canal and use the opportunity to eliminate Western Chu, together with Chen Ping. Liu Bang followed Zhang Liang's advice and granted land to Han Xin and Peng Yue. As Zhang Liang predicted, Han Xin and Peng Yue arrived with their armies and formed a coordinated attack on Western Chu, together with Liu Bang's force. They defeated Xiang Yu at the Battle of Gaixia in 202 BC.

Special Skill of Zhang Liang:

Zhang Liang's Special Skill is called “Sage of Strategy,” which increases March Size by 8% and boosts attacking ground troops and mounted troops' attacks and HP by 15% when the General is the Rally Spot Officer. Zhang Liang is an awakened General, and each star in his Special Skill will be added by General Ascending, which unlocks a new skill for each star.

The specialty of Zhang Liang (Max Level Attributes):

Zhang Liang's Specialty attributes are Ground Troop Defense, which enhances Ground Troop HP and Defense by 10%, Formation, which boosts Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Attack by 10%, Sage, which increases March Size Capacity by 6%, and Strategize at a distance, which increases March Size Capacity by 8% and boosts Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack and Defense by 10%.

How to Obtain & Use Zhang Liang:

To obtain Zhang Liang, players must participate in the King's Party Event during Evony's 6th Anniversary Celebration and reach Party Cake level 10.

After obtaining Zhang Liang, players can choose him as their Rally Spot Officer by clicking “Duty” on Rally Spot.

However, before using him, players must increase their Attributes by increasing their EXP, enhancing them, and cultivating them. To use him effectively, players should focus on his strengths, such as his Special Skill and Specialty attributes, and use him in strategic battles that require high attack power and strong defense.
